Virtual Tour of “Gender Bending Fashion”

From the runways to the streets, designers and wearers have been upending traditional ideas about gendered clothing for over a century. “Gender Bending Fashion” (March 21–August 25, 2019) looked across one hundred years of haute couture and ready-to-wear fashion that has challenged rigid, binary definitions of dress—from the garçonne look of the 1920s to the peacock revolution of the 1960s to contemporary designers like Rad Hourani, Alessandro Trincone, and Rei Kawakubo.
