Ticket Information

  • A ticket is required for each individual to enter the building, including members and youths 17 and under. Make sure to add free youth tickets to your order at the same time as you add adult tickets. 
  • Tickets must be purchased in advance on mfa.org or by phone at 1-800-440-6975. $6 per-order processing fee applies to all phone orders. There are no on-site, day-of purchases.
  • General Admission tickets do not include access to the special exhibitions “Writing the Future” and “Monet and Boston”
  • Separate tickets on different days must be purchased to visit both “Writing the Future” and “Monet and Boston”; they cannot be seen on the same day in a single visit
  • Entry time slots are 60 minutes; visitors must enter the Museum or the specific exhibition, if applicable, within that 60-minute window.
  • Once inside the building, visitors may stay as long as they like
  • No re-entry into a special exhibition or building
  • Maximum ticket quantity per order of 6

The McLane Family New Hampshire Student Membership Program allows New Hampshire students of all ages in public and private school, as well as those who are home schooled, to visit the Museum free of charge.

Bank of America cardholders can find the promo code for Museums on Us tickets on the MFA entry in the map view of Bank of Americas Museum on Us program page. The promo code allows Bank of America cardholders to reserve one free admission ticket during the first full weekend of each month. Tickets are limited to one ticket per cardholder, and you must present your Bank of America card with your ticket when you arrive at the Museum. Bank of America Museums on Us tickets are not available on site and are subject to availability.

Later this fall, Massachusetts residents who present Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards can receive up to four $3 admission tickets good for adult, senior, or student admission. Check back here for details on how to get tickets.

EBT Card to Culture is a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services’ Department of Transitional Assistance. See the full list of participants.

$10 tickets are available to members of the Institutional Pass Program. Please contact the public library, school, or nonprofit organization to which youre associated for information about how to access $10 tickets.

K–12 teachers in a school, afterschool, or community setting in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont can receive free general admission tickets or $5 special exhibition tickets with proof of active teaching status. Please contact your teachers union or school for details on how to access tickets. If they do not have the information, please contact teacherresources@mfa.org from your school e-mail address. Retired teachers and home school educators are not eligible.

Please contact the representative at your company who is responsible for the MFA partnership to access your free admission tickets.

Redeem Admission toward Membership

Visitors who have purchased full-priced admission tickets can request to redeem the cost of the tickets toward an MFA membership within one year of their visit.
