Months in the making, “Community Arts Initiative: Patterns of Greatness” opened at the MFA on May 8, 2021. In this 12-minute video celebration, hear from Makeeba McCreary, Patti and Jonathan Kraft Chief of Learning and Community Engagement, who offers welcoming remarks, and artist Chanel Thervil, who recounts her favorite memories of working with young artists from the Museum’s Community Arts Initiative partners to create the exhibition’s multimedia installation. Then enjoy a montage of the young artists working together over Zoom and making art, set to music by the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club of Boston.
