Class Options

The kids program is intended for ages 5–11. Classes are broken down into age appropriate groups with both online and in-person options. Classes meet once a week during the fall, winter, and spring. Students explore the Museum’s collection, then respond to what they have seen through drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, printmaking projects, and more.

Please call the Box Office at 1-800-440-6975 or Studio Art Classes at 617-369-3295 for more information.

Summer Studio Art Classes at the MFA consist of five-day, online and in-person classes that focus on a specific theme. Groups of 10-12 children (grouped by age 5-7, 6–8, 8–10, and 9–11) discover new places and cultures influenced by the collection; and draw, paint, sculpt, collage, print, and more. Themes include Time Travelers, Treasure Hunters, Natural Wonders and more! Please note that registration for summer classes ends at 12 pm the Friday before the class is scheduled to start.

During February and April Vacation Weeks, the MFA offers Tuesday–Friday Studio Art Classes for kids ages 5-11. Sessions focus on a specific theme with both online and in-person options. With small class sizes of 10-12 students, (grouped by ages 5-8 and 9-11) children discover new places and cultures; visit our galleries; and draw, paint, sculpt, and collage. Please note that registration for vacation week classes ends at 12 pm the Friday before the class is scheduled to start.
