Adult Studio Art Classes

Whether you’re new to art or advanced in your skills and seeking a creative challenge, Studio Art Classes are an affordable, fun way to explore the medium, improve your technique, and meet other art enthusiasts!

Introduce yourself to the fundamentals of drawing, or basic color and composition of acrylic painting. Practice various approaches to charcoal drawings or paint from observation. The MFA offers a variety of drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking, and many more classes for everyone.

Adult Class Options

MFA studio art classes offer a unique combination of access to a rich and diverse art collection and personal instruction by experienced educators and professional artists.

In the fall, winter, spring sessions, adult in-person classes meet once a week for ten weeks.

Class sizes are limited to ensure that all students benefit from these experiences. The MFA provides courses for all experience levels.

Two-day weekend workshops meet on Saturdays and Sundays and introduce students to techniques in drawing, painting, mixed media, and many more.

Intensive classes are four - five hours long. During February and April Vacation Weeks, as well as Summer, , intensives take place over several days in a row.

Online classes run weekly for eight weeks in the fall, winter, spring and summer sessions. Classes meet via Zoom and run synchronously, similar to traditional in-person classes, where students participate together at a certain time. Online classes are not recorded.
