Begin the evening with a visit to the ancient Greek and Roman galleries with a focus on Dionysos, the god of wine. On our way to the studio, stop at Taste Café to pick up wine, coffee, or something cold to take with you to the art space next door. In the second hour, enjoy a clay slab vessel demonstration and then try your hand at building your own .  Slip and score as you sip and sculpt. Create your own clay vessel to take home.

About the Instructor

Melanie Blood graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2010. She continued her education at Tufts University in affiliation with The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, receiving a Master of Arts in Teaching Visual Arts in 2011. She is currently teaching 3D art at a large urban high school south of Boston. Melanie is also a working artist and will be attending an artist residency program in Barcelona, Spain this summer. Melanie has taught at the Museum of Fine Arts for the past six summers.
