Explore landscape painting in urban and park areas. Develop skills in observation, render light and shade, portray depth of field, and handle paints. Work primarily outdoors; when indoors, observe techniques found in landscape paintings in our collection.

About the Instructor

George Hancin is a painter concentrating on urban, suburban, and rural landscapes that explore how light, shadow, and time describe a place and set a mood. George received an art education degree from Kent State, a painting degree from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and completed his masters at Yale in the 80s. George has been a member at Bromfield Gallery and has shown his work in solo and group shows at the Amos Enos Gallery, Attleboro Art Center, Montserrat, among others. George is currently an adult continuing education and high school art teacher.
