Digital MFA member cards, a convenient and eco-friendly alternative to plastic cards, can be downloaded to a smartphone’s Wallet and automatically update when your membership information changes. New MFA members receive a digital member card to access their free general admission, member-priced tickets, discounts, and more.

QR codes work better at the parking kiosks. We switched to QR codes so members could enjoy a smoother parking experience at the MFA.
All new members receive their digital member card upon joining MFA membership. Once your membership is processed, you will receive an e-mail with instructions for how to download and access your new card within 7 business days.

There are two named members associated with my membership. How can the second member receive a digital card?
All named members are required to have an e-mail on file to receive the digital card. If you need to update or provide a new e-mail address you may do so by e-mailing email@example.com or by visiting a ticket desk during your next visit.
Your membership benefits are listed on the back of your digital card.
The card will automatically download to Apple Wallet. Check the app for your new card by scrolling through any cards that are already downloaded.
You need to download Wallet Passes from the Google Play Store prior to downloading the card. Then the card will automatically save to your Wallet Passes app. Check the app for your new card by scrolling through any cards that are already downloaded.
Plastic Member Cards
All new and renewing members who request a plastic card will receive their membership card within 14 to 21 business days of joining the MFA; however, your membership is effective immediately upon purchase, so you can always access discounts without your membership card.

Yes, but we strongly recommend you remember to bring your card. If you forget it, simply visit a ticket desk with a photo ID when you arrive at the Museum, and you will be able to obtain your free general admission and discounts.
No, all members and nonmembers need a ticket to visit a special exhibition. Your card alone does not provide entry into special exhibitions.
Yes, you can scan your member-priced admission ticket at the parking kiosk to receive your discount on parking.
