MFA Late Nites: Frequently Asked Questions

This is a popular event and it is held after regular Museum hours. Only one entrance will be open: the Huntington Avenue Entrance. If you have a ticket, join the end of the ticket holders line. If you need to purchase a ticket, or one of your party needs to buy one, get in the same-day ticket sales line.

You can expect to be outside in line for some time, but we’ll try to keep you warm and entertained. The Museum opens for MFA Late Nites at 8 pm, but everyone must be checked in, so even though we go as quickly as we can, there will be a wait. Wait times vary throughout the evening.

Ticketing

Tickets will be available for purchase in person at the Huntington Avenue Entrance, starting at 8 pm, the night of the event.

MFA Late Nites is a very popular event. Advance tickets have sold out in the past, so we recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as possible. Advance tickets are $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Tickets are $25 at the door the night of the event for members and nonmembers.

Lines

There will be two lines: one line for ticket holders and one line for same-day purchase in person on a first-come, first-served basis at the Huntington Entrance the night of the event starting at 8 pm.

Ticketholders may wait in the same-day ticket sales line if some people in their party need to purchase tickets on the night of the event. Your ticket will need be scanned at the ticket desk to gain entry.

There will be a designated line for ticketholders to check-in, separate from the same-day ticket sales line. Ticketholders may stand in the same-day ticket sales line if a member of their party does not have a ticket yet.

The garage closes at 2 am, an hour after the event finishes.

Attire

Casual to fancy, almost anything goes. Please note MFA policy for attire is as follows:

To ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all, please note that revealing clothing, costume masks, and full-face makeup are not permitted for visitors. Exceptions may be made for health concerns and religious attire at the discretion of MFA staff.

If it is determined that the event needs to be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances, it will not be rescheduled. Ticket holders will be notified if the event is cancelled due to weather by 2 pm on the day of the event. Refunds will be issued for purchased tickets.
