Directed by renowned auteur Zeki Demirkubuz, (Destiny, Innocence) this searching drama follows a young woman named Hicran who escapes a forced engagement by fleeing to Istanbul, leaving behind her family and her appointed fiancée, Rıza. When Rıza decides to seek out Hicran in the teeming metropolis, the two characters’ destinies intertwine in unexpected ways, painting a dark but touching allegory for life itself characteristic of the director’s inclination toward existential reflection.
