Works of art contribute to key understandings about ancient civilizations, for scholars and for students. Join this workshop to hear about the newly installed and interpreted galleries focused on gods and goddesses, Byzantine art, Roman portraiture, and early Greek art. Drawing on a range of perspectives, this workshop addresses ideas for teaching Ancient Greece and Rome within a global context, the relative nature of the term “ancient,” and the continued relevance of this era today.
