Je cours à Paris passer trois jours dans le cas où vous y êtes par hasard, faites-moi signe Hotel Métropolitain rue Cambon. Ce serait un si grand plaisir de vous voir. J’ai été très négligent en ne répondant pas à votre bonne lettre d’il y a quelque temps mais cela n’est pas une infidélité.
Dernièrement à Londres j’étais sur le point de vous envoyer une dépêche pour vous dire que le temps semblait être au brouillard fixe.
J’espère voir chez Durand-Ruel quelques cathédrales de Rouen.
Lâchez donc les fleurs. J’ai beaucoup travaillé à mes terribles décorations, qui avancent un peu—meilleures amitiés et un mot S.V.P. à Paris.

My dear Monet
I am rushing off to Paris for three days. If by any chance you happen to be there, get in touch with me at the Hotel Métropolitain, rue Cambon. It would be such a great pleasure to see you. I have been very remiss in not replying to the kind letter you sent some time ago, but that is not because I have forgotten you.
I was on the verge of sending you a telegram recently from London to tell you that the weather there seemed to be a settled fog.
I am hoping to see some Rouen Cathedral pictures at Durand-Ruel’s.
So leave off the flowers. I have been working hard on my dreadful decorations, which are coming along a little—Yours truly and do contact me in Paris please.
