Space Exploration on Film

August 1–31, 2019

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, MFA Film presents a series about expeditions into outer space. From Stanley Kubrick’s seminal masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey to the astonishing new documentary Apollo 11, each of these films looks at humankind’s innate compulsion to explore, while confronting the Big Questions: Who are we? Where did we come from? Where are we going? For a little perspective or an escape from earthly concerns, join us on a mind-expanding voyage on the waves of space.
