The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, offers year-round studio art classes and workshops taught by experienced educators and professional artists in a unique setting. Access to a world-class collection of art provides inspiration for studio exploration. Studio art classes and workshops include day, evening, and weekend classes and workshops for all ages.

Adult Art Classes

The adult program includes classes in drawing, figure drawing, acrylic painting, oil painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, stone carving, and more.

Teen Art Classes

The teen program for ages 12–18 includes weekly Saturday classes, workshops, school vacation week classes and summer classes and intensives. Classes include: drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, animation, photography and printmaking.

Kids and Preschool Art Classes

The kids program is intended for ages 5–11 (classes grouped by age) and includes weekly Saturday classes, Sunday classes, School Vacation Week and Summer art programs. Preschool classes are intended for children ages 4–5 accompanied by an adult. Both the preschool and kids classes are taught by experienced educators who are professional artists.

Studio Partnerships

The Museum is committed to providing high-quality fine art instruction that empowers artists to explore their creativity in multiple media. Studio art partnerships between the Museum and the Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts, Diablo Glass School, and Stonybrook Fine Arts allow students to create art using specific media found and inspired by our world-class encyclopedic collection.
