Working from a live model, gain an intimate understanding of how to conceptualize and construct a portrait. Explore concepts and techniques such as proportion, structure, features, and likeness, to develop accurate and expressive portraits.

About the Instructor

Ea Domke is a visual artist, arts educator, and LGBTQIA+ activist. She works with painting, sculpture, video, installation art, and public speaking. As a queer transgender woman, her works seek to engage with communities to create and expand conversations around gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of South Dakota and her Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Her recent activities include giving a TED Talk at TEDxTufts 2018. Ea was awarded a Post Graduate Teaching Fellowship at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts, and the Katherine Romero Graduating Student Award in 2017.
