Drawing exclusively in the galleries, concentrate on practicing the basic fundamentals of line, gesture, shading, texture, color, proportion, and composition. Combine and build upon these drawing fundamentals, and learn to practice a variety of techniques while exploring different media. Draw inspiration from artwork and explore themes of the MFA collections.

About the Instructor

Leila Joy Rosenthal has been teaching a variety of children and adult classes and the City of Boston’s High School Art Scholarship Classes at the Museum of Fine Arts for nearly 60 years. In addition to teaching art, she has also studied dental technology and is able to combine her drawing and sculpture skills working as a clinical associate professor at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. For the past thirty years, she has been singing with the Zamir Chorale of Boston.
