Explore the many different ways artists use their unique mark making to create an image, and find your own style of making. From Van Gogh’s expressive strokes, to Pissarro’s dots, to a sculptor’s chisel scrapes, to a weaver’s threads, each mark tells a story.

Due to the building’s historic architecture, the third-floor classrooms, 305A, 305B, 305D and 305E, are not wheelchair-accessible and must be accessed by stairs. Please let us know in advance if the student has limited mobility; we can make accommodations, including relocating the class to an accessible space.

About the Instructor

Caitlin Mavilia has her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and a Masters of Art in Teaching from School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Since 2015, she has worked with the MFA Studio Art Classes in a variety of capacities, including as an intern, assistant teacher, summer assistant, and now lead teacher, covering a wide range of ages and media.
