Explore the dazzling medium of color and light with artist Kathleen Muse Mayer. Observe how glass is cut, shaped, and assembled using traditional lead came and the copper-foil approach developed by renowned artists John Lafarge and Louis Comfort Tiffany. Afterwards, visit the works of Lafarge and Tiffany on Level 2 of the Art of the Americas wing with a new appreciation for their artistry.

Kathleen Muse Mayer is an artist and teacher in the Boston area. Along with creating original stained-glass art, she is commissioned to restore stained glass, and to create glass art. Included in her commission work is the stained-glass display for the MFA’s Artist Toolbox Cart.  Her teaching experience in glass includes Diablo Glass School, Boston, and the Umbrella Arts Center in Concord. Mayer received her MFA in painting from the Tyler School of Art.
