As highlighted in “Monet and Boston: Lasting Impression,” Claude Monet’s work has been collected and appreciated in Boston since the late 19th century. Maureen Melton, Susan Morse Hilles Director of Libraries and Archives and Museum Historian, tells three stories of Bostonians who knew Monet and bought his work, and how their paintings came into the MFA’s collection.
