What an exciting fall we have had with the arrival of Matthew Teitelbaum, Ann and Graham Gund Director, and the opening of so many compelling exhibitions from “Crafted: Objects in Flux” and “Made in the Americas: The New World Discovers Asia” to “Class Distinctions: Dutch Painting in the Age of Rembrandt and Vermeer.” Matthew helped us launch the fall season at the September 29 Patron’s Choice event, and will close the spring season on June 7 with a lecture sharing reflections on his first year at the MFA. In my role as chair, I have had the opportunity to see the impact of our Patron support and to work with highly dedicated curators and staff who care deeply about the MFA. I hope you will join me in getting to know the curators and exploring the collections this winter and spring at events such as “Close Up: Prints, Drawings, and Photographs” on February 23 and the exciting opening of “Megacities Asia,” just a month later on March 28. Please consider joining fellow Patrons for the trip to Brazil next fall. Curators Jen Mergel and Dennis Carr will be leading us on an extraordinary journey. I can personally attest to their thorough planning and leadership as my husband and I traveled with them to Cuba a while back.
Thank you again for your support for the MFA.
