This online class will take you back in time to examine ancient artwork and travel to each continent to explore cultural traditions such as Japanese sumi-ink paintings; learn rituals practiced with masks from the African collections, or imagine yourself in the daily Greek society to make your own clay vase.
Students are responsible for providing their own materials. View the supply list.

Online Studio Art Classes can only be purchased through mfa.org. Unfortunately we cannot process phone orders or in-person sales.

About the Instructor
Eda French holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Born and raised in Portland, Maine, Eda comes from a family of artists; her mother an illustrator and her father a photographer. Eda began working with the Museum of Fine Arts as an intern for Studio Art Classes, became a class assistant, and has transitioned into a lead teacher. Outside of teaching for the MFA, Eda is a practicing illustrator creating colorful and vibrant work in both traditional and digital mediums.
