One of every artist’s favorite muses is the human figure. Learn to measure bodily proportion, basic anatomy and improve observational skills. Examine the elements of line, gesture, and shading while working creatively with a diverse array of inspirational artworks from the MFA Collection. 

Please bring a nut-free lunch, snacks, utensils, water bottle, extra masks and picnic blanket.

About the Instructor

Justin Life received an MFA from Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Arts (2007) and a BFA in painting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2002); he also studied at the Winchester School of Art at Southampton University in England (2002). His shows include Affirming the Hand at the Courtyard Gallery, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2005); Boston Young Contemporaries at 808 Gallery (2007); and “Boston Drawing Project 10th Anniversary Show” at Carroll and Sons Gallery, Boston MA (2009). Life also teaches at Tufts University and the Boston Architectural College.
