Pastel has a quality unlike other media. There is a softness of surface and a vibrancy of color that is unique to it. Traditional pastel technique will be covered in this class as you explore techniques to layer color and learn about the uses of soft and hard pastel sticks. Work on various types of paper and discover why colored paper is used frequently by pastel artists. You'll come to know what fixative is and how it preserves your finished work.

Students are responsible for providing their own supplies. View the supply list here.
