Develop your own personal ideas and techniques while painting subjects that you are passionate about. Explore paint materials of your choice. Create a cohesive, visually and conceptually linked series of works. Research and preparation make your work richer and more meaningful. Gain new skills on the use of color theory and strong composition. Each class begins with warm-ups, demonstrations and preparatory drawings for your paintings. The instructor provides optional subject matter and assignments to stimulate thinking. Observe art history examples, works in the MFA collection and critiques to encourage ideas, inspiration, and personal feedback.

Adult students are expected to bring their own supplies: please view our supply lists online here. If your class is not listed, supplies will be provided on the first day and the instructor will review supplies to bring for the following classes.
