Learn how to approach landscapes through drawing and painting in acrylics or oil. Learn how to determine a composition, the difference between a shape, a value and a color, and how to effectively use color by learning about color relationships and color schemes such as analogous, complementary, and neutral.

Registration for February, April, and Summer vacation week classes ends at Noon the Friday before the class starts.

Due to the building’s historic architecture, the third-floor classrooms, 305A, 305B, 305D and 305E, are not wheelchair-accessible and must be accessed by stairs. Please let us know in advance if the student has limited mobility; we can make accommodations, including relocating the class to an accessible space.

About the Instructor

George Hancin is a painter concentrating on urban, suburban, and rural landscapes that explore how light, shadow, and time describe a place and set a mood. George received an art education degree from Kent State, a painting degree from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and completed his masters at Yale in the 80s. George has been a member at Bromfield Gallery and has shown his work in solo and group shows at the Amos Enos Gallery, Attleboro Art Center, Montserrat, among others. George is currently an adult continuing education and high school art teacher.
