Learn how to conceptualize and construct the figure while experimenting with different drawing techniques. Refine concepts of anatomy such as proportion, structure, and features as you investigate expressive differences of sculptures from the MFA collections. The final two classes will be spent applying your skills while working from a live model.

Due to the building’s historic architecture, the third-floor classrooms, 305A, 305B, 305D and 305E, are not wheelchair-accessible and must be accessed by stairs. Please let us know in advance if the student has limited mobility; we can make accommodations, including relocating the class to an accessible space.

About the Instructor

Tim McCool is a native of Pittsburgh and received his B.A. from Boston College in Studio Art and Art History and his M.F.A. from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in affiliation with Tufts University. While studying at SMFA, he has exhibited his work in Boston, New York and other cities, and has written about art for various publications internationally.
