Drawing exclusively in the galleries, concentrate on practicing the basic fundamentals of line, gesture, shading, texture, color, proportion, and composition. Combine and build upon these drawing fundamentals, and learn to practice a variety of techniques while exploring different media. Draw inspiration from artwork and explore themes of the MFA collections.

About the Instructor
George Hancin is a painter concentrating on urban, suburban, and rural landscapes that explore how light, shadow, and time describe a place and set a mood. George received an art education degree from Kent State and a painting degree from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and completed his masters at Yale in the 80s. George has been a member at Bromfield Gallery and has shown his work in solo and group shows at the Amos Enos Gallery, Attleboro Art Center, Montserrat, among others. After 26 years of teaching high school art, George is retired and putting his full attention into his painting and teaching continuing education.
