Discover photography through the digital camera to understand composition, the effects of light, and color within a photograph. Examine the MFA’s photography collection and work in the galleries to inspire your own compelling images. Learn different photography genres such as portraits, still life, documentary and more.

Students taking this course must bring their own digital camera with manual controls.

About the Instructor

Fran Osborn Blaschke is a photographer who graduated from the New England School of Photography professional program. His artistic vision is influenced and inspired by his family, science, astronomy, music, and poetry. His photographs have been shown at various venues in the New England area, including the Photographic Resource Center, the Danforth Museum of Art and the Griffin Museum of Photography.
