Looking to relax and have fun at the end of a long week? Unwind with MFA First Fridays, an exciting evening of music, dancing, art making, and more on the first Friday of select months. See art, meet new people, purchase cocktails and delicious bites, and let your hair down as you welcome the weekend at the MFA.
Tickets include general admission to the MFA and are free for members. First Fridays sell out fast, so plan ahead and purchase tickets in advance. Limited time slots are available for art making. Reserve free timed art-making tickets at the event on a first-come, first served-basis.

Open to visitors 21+. Valid ID with proof of age required for entry.
Accepted forms of identification for entrance include:
- Massachusetts Drivers License
- Massachusetts Liquor ID
- Massachusetts ID issued by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles
- Drivers License from any US state
- Valid Passport (photocopies are not accepted)
- Federal Identification (e.g. Military ID)
Bag Checks
All bags are subject to inspection by Museum staff. Backpacks, large bags, all liquids including hand sanitizer and sunscreen, and outside food or drink are not permitted. Exceptions are made for medical or religious needs. All bags are strongly discouraged, and any bags larger than 11” x 15” must be checked in the Coat Room upon entry. Read our full bag check policy.
