This spring the MFA hosts three extraordinary exhibitions of self-portraiture: “Lucian Freud: The Self-Portraits,” “Personal Space: Self-Portraits on Paper,” and “Elsa Dorfman: Me and My Camera.” Join curator Akili Tommasino to gain insights into Lucian Freud’s life-long practice of depicting himself in a variety of two-dimensional media, and curator Patrick Murphy for a deep dive into contemporary and historical self-portraits on paper from the MFA’s collections. Explore the photographs of Elsa Dorfman with photography curators Anne Havinga and James Leighton.
