Join artists Fab 5 Freddy, Futura, Lee Quiñones, Kool Koor, and Lady Pink for a discussion moderated by curators Liz Munsell and Greg Tate to celebrate the exhibition opening of “Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation.” The post-graffiti moment in 1980s New York marked street arts transition from city walls and subway trains to canvas and into the art world. Several of the artists behind this American art movement offer memories and reflections on their roles as prophetic founders of what has become a global movement. Through their voices, we remember Basquiat, A-One, ERO, Keith Haring, and Rammellzee.
