Class Schedule

April 6, 2023—The Art of Food: Still Life

Learn why artists create paintings of food and how food connects to cultures around the world by looking at examples from the Museum’s collections. Then use oil pastels to draw a still life of your favorite foods!

April 13, 2023—The Art of Food: Cups, Platters, and Bowls

Take a closer look at cups, platters, and utensils from different cultures and time periods. Then sculpt your own decorative cups, plates, and bowls out of clay.

May 4, 2023—The Art of Food: Stories

Special foods and recipes are often used as part of stories, myths, parables, and legends. Explore some of these stories while taking a closer look at art from the Museum’s collections then create your own using paper and ink.
