Class Schedule

June 3, 2022—Creature Collage

Combine your creativity by taking a closer look at artwork of creatures that have heads and bodies of other animals, such as the sculpture of Ganesha, a Hindu God with an elephant’s head and man’s body. Then use mixed media to create your own part-animal, part-human collage.

June 10, 2022—Guardian Lions

Sneak up on the statue of the bearded stone lion. Learn why these guardians were created and what they protected. Then use clay and wire to sculpt your own guardian animal.

June 17, 2022—Dino Diorama

Search the galleries for ancient animals that no longer live on Earth and see if you can spot dinosaurs and woolly mammoths. Learn more about where and how they lived then make a diorama where your own dinosaur will thrive.

June 24, 2022—Birds of Peace

Doves are often thought of as symbols of peace. Take a closer look at the oil lamp in the shape of a dove that was used to light a home in ancient Egypt. Then use wood and paper to construct your own dove sculpture.

Supplies are provided.
