Directed by Lee Isaac Chung (USA, 2020, 115 min.) Korean and English with English subtitles.
A gentle story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean American family that moves to an Arkansas farm in search of their own American dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed but incredibly loving grandmother. Amid the instability and challenges of a new life in the rugged Ozarks, the undeniable resilience of family reveals itself as the true definition of what makes a home.
Starring Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri, and Youn Yuh-jung, who earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting actress for her radiant performance as the grandmother, Soon-ja.
