Built in the 1960’s in the Ulus, the historic city center of Ankara, the Anafartalar Bazaar is a shopping center is a unique building that houses 22 works of art by venerable Turkish artists. Artisans and craftspeople have been running the same shops in Anafartalar for over 50 years, giving the Bazaar a privileged place in cultural and social memory of the city. But the bazar is also one of many buildings slated for demolition as part of the Ulus Historic City Center Renovation Area Project. It This documentary sheds light on the famous Anafartalar Bazaar and the recent urban history of Ankara.

A Hopeful Story (Umutlu Bir Hikaye)

This documentary follows a retired music teacher who returns to her home village to establish a choir with local women between the ages of 40 to 82. The choir becomes well known and the village begins to attract visitors. A gripping story of a former schoolteacher who succeeds in igniting creativity within her fellow women.
