Directed by Kimberly Peirce (USA, 1999, 118 min.). 35mm.

In Kimberly Peirce’s groundbreaking drama, a transgender boy named Brandon Teena (Hilary Swank) leaves his hometown under threat when his ex-girlfriend’s brother discovers that he is trans. Resettling in the small town of Falls City, Nebraska, Brandon falls for Lana (Chloë Sevigny), an aspiring singer. But history repeats itself, and Lana and Brandon’s new life together is threatened by bigoted locals. For their performances, Swank won the Oscar for Best Actress and Sevigny was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
