In this workshop, Tess Lukey (Aquinnah Wampanoag), curatorial research associate, Art of the Americas, gives educators the chance to expand the narrative of New England history and art to include the area's Indigenous people. The session highlights works of art from the MFA's collection featured in the online selection  “Of This Land: Native American Woodlands Art” slideshow and a discussion about how integrating them into teaching with an in-depth discussion of three of the works featured. The workshop also frames for teachers the many different contexts for talking to students about these works of art, and the importance of elucidating the presence of Native American communities and cultures in New England and across the country.

This session is led via Zoom and includes opportunities for questions and dialogue.
