Engage with works of contemporary art by Indigenous artists, with an emphasis on artworks from North America and Australia. Hear from Marina Tyquiengco (CHamoru), curatorial assistant, Contemporary Art, about the central role artistic expression plays in contemporary and historical culture and political action. Tyquiengco discusses the ways contemporary Indigenous art can be an entry into important global and domestic issues, both politically and socially. This session is designed to introduce works of art in the MFA collection and help educators integrate Indigenous art into their curriculum.

This session is led via Zoom and includes opportunities for questions and dialogue.
