Adventures in Art for Children on the Autism Spectrum

Class Description: Oceans, Boats, & Acrylic Painting

In this session, we will explore the theme of the sea and boats in art, drawing inspiration from the MFA's collection. We will examine different paintings and models of boats and discuss the ways in which artists have used this theme to capture different moments throughout history, from calm mornings to important events.

After our exploration, we will head to the studio to create our own acrylic paintings inspired by the sea and boats. This hands-on experience will allow us to channel our creativity and put into practice the techniques and styles we learned about in our discussion of sea and boat art.

By participating in this session, we will not only learn about the ways in which artists have used the theme of the sea and boats in their work but also gain an appreciation for the role of this theme in art history. So come join us for this exciting journey into the world of sea and boat art!
